
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February, 1970, [1]) is an American actor, director, and performer best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. She won her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television award for the most outstanding supporting actress in an action series. She also starred in the Fox show Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young began her acting career as an actor in the theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 as Mary The Life. The Life. The Off-Broadway roles include in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Rock Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her television debut in a recurring role in"awkward" NBC daytime soap show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The actress guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998 in two roles. Her first film appearance was the year 1999 when she starred as an important role in the The crime-drama Black and White.
