Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her catalog includes more than twenty albums. Her music is classified as folk-rock and alternative rock although it has additional influence from hip beat and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy recipient Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement being one of the first musicians to launch her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco's parents, Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were students at the same school. Her father was of Italian origin and her mother was originally from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors.
