Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by a mixed ethnic family. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She earned her BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her career as an actor through the film Storm Damage. She has appeared as an actor on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following that she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. The year 2008 saw her landed the role as Bambi on The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in series two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). She also appeared in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama series was telecast at The CW for only two episodes, but it was cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. In May 2013 that she would be leaving the series following an appearance in the first episode of season three. She played Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and. Madekwe and her boyfriend who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were wedding in June of 2012. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked with each other on Salem and also he played an appearance with her on that TV show.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. Her four older brothers were present as well: twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because the four brothers who were athletic played baseball, hockey, and both in the winter and summer. Ashley was never able to walk. She was a dancer. When she reached 2 and a 1/2 when she was a little older, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley became a dancer from that moment. Ashley competed in top-level divisions of tap, jazz ballet, hip hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe, until she finished in high school. Additionally, she was awarded the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
